Perceptive & Sentiment Computing
Research Unit 1

This research area attempts to develop understanding of human perception and provides insight through sentiment analysis in computing. It includes developments of theories, methodologies, techniques and practices. It is inspired through understanding and intuition in the use of natural language processing, context analysis, and computational linguistic to identify and extract subjective information in source materials. Research may explore into profiling and modeling user behavior based on context analysis in the technology such as social media e.g use of text and emoticon in facebook and twitter. Research conducted in this area deals with human behavior and cognition, Socio-technical issues, Affection, human centered design, social media and interaction.
